Started to apply texture to my hands to make it look realistic. 

Smoothed out sides for my hands and added texture to give a realistic image to them.

Candle for world peace

For my candle I thought it'd be a good idea to write all the problems that underdeveloped people face in Africa. The words portray everything they have to overcome.

 For this week, I have uploaded four posts and pictures abou a part of my world peace project, commented on Lexi and Reid's work, and added a new link on Donatello's sculptures.

Today I added a base layer of glue water with white paper. After I added another layer of that to cover all the spots where you could see newspaper. Then I dried it and added a two layers of Gesso to give my candle that white waxy appearance.

World issue project number 2

World issue project.

Doing a project about world hunger. Kind of hits home because my family sponsors a little girl that lives in Africa that does not have much. 

Number 5, Giant Tap, Tecnopark Wintertur, Switzerland.

 I am going to write about the Giant Tap that is in Switzerland. To me I find it very interesting because I can't seem to find where the source of water is coming from. The way I see it it looks like the giant tap is almost floating in mid air. That's why I find so interesting. Where is the water coming from? I would love to be able to sit down with the creator of this and see how exactly he came up with this and how he made it.

I am starting to brainstorm for my new project that I am about to start.

 Today I am writing a short story about my skull sculpture and what it means to me as its creator. Initially I wanted to do something a little different than what it is now but I embraced what it has turned it into. Now looking at it I get a sort of “Day of The Dead” feel towards it. During this Mexican holiday the natives of Mexico celebrate this day is an honoring day for those loved ones that have passed on in their life. Traditionally, they offer sugar skulls to their loved ones in their private altars called ofrendas.  These skulls represent the passed ones favorite foods or other cherished items that they once loved when they were alive. The skulls are usually a mix between somewhat comical and a little spooky. This is why I see a Day of The Dead feel about my skull because I see comical and a splash of spookiness in my skull.
